What could be so attractive about a field in Northampton that sits empty and unused for much of the year?
Well, fill it with some cool builds, great food, great music and a super-chilled vibe and you have a show that has now been established for almost 20 years. Yes, ladies and gents this is Edition 38.

What began as a few friends travelling overseas to enjoy car show culture soon became a show in its own right. Taking the best bits from all of the shows they visited overseas Mick Bell and his friends decided to jumble up several jigsaws and build their own UK show using all the best bits.
Static Or Aired-Out?
Whether static or ‘on-air’ it’s a show that celebrates all things slammed. A showcase for lowered machines and home to some life-long builds that have been a labour of love for their owners. But it’s also a celebration of all things modified on the VAG platform with the weekend seeing more polished metalwork than you could shake a proverbial stick at.
The show allows owners to take their cars up on stage and with awards presented for several different categories, there’s plenty to compete for – if accolades are your thing.
Behind the main show, of course, is the camping – this is an event very much about like-minded car guys and girls of all ages getting together to celebrate one common interest.
Oh, and dogs – some very cool dogs.
Depending on what marque floats your boat there’s plenty to stop and chat about with the owners. The love for older builds is strong at Ed38, and why not! Some of the older Mark 1 and Mark 2 Golf builds proudly displaying the resulting effects of an absolute sh*t tonne of man hours and hard work.
Of course, our fully Performance-packed 500bhp Golf R was on display for all to enjoy. Featuring our IS38ETR turbo kit and full Carbon Series Intake System along with our 380mm big brake kit hiding behind a set of Revo RV0 19″ alloys wrapped in a set of Nankang AS-2+.
Big Plans For Edition 38 Next Year
If you were there then you know if you weren’t then get yourself along next year for what Mick (one of the show founders) plans to deliver their best-ever show to date with something planned that will no doubt appeal to a huge number of people.
Well done to all who made the event what it was last but by no means least well done to Alex Lambert (@polo83lambert), who won our Revo ‘car of the show’ award for his ridiculously clean VW GTi Clubsport Edition 40 that he DROVE to the show. Alex will also now reap the benefit of an upgrade to our Stage 1 software to ensure the car has the grunt to match its looks.
