The Revo Intercooler Pipe Upgrade kit offers incredible power and torque increases by reducing charge system resistance and improving flow compared to the restrictive stock pipework. Designed for the MQB 2.0 TSI EA888 EVO High Output Engine, this upgrade is available for multiple models including VW Golf R, GTI Clubsport, Audi S3, Cupra and Formentor. Featuring larger internal diameters, fewer restrictions for smoother airflow, integral machined DV adapter, 4 ply silicone hoses and optimised routing, the turbo meets less resistance and can perform more effectively.

Increased Volume


When enhancing the performance of the 2.0T EA888 EVO High Output engine with software, the raised turbocharger demand and higher commanded boost pressures increase the volume of air pushed through the charge air plumbing. The size, shape and routing of the OE parts become performance restrictions at these higher air volumes, limiting the potential power gained from the software. This issue is particularly chronic on the EVO High Output engines, given the size of the OE Continental® turbocharger. The Revo kit builds upon the tried-and-proven features of the Revo MQB Gen3 pipe upgrade kit, targeting and removing these OE volume restrictions with larger, mandrel bent aluminium tubing, size-matched silicone hoses featuring Revo Flush Fit connections and flow-optimised routing through the engine bay. The result is an intercooler pipe kit that provides maximum airflow and performance at any level of EA888 EVO High Output engine tuning.

Charge Pipe Design


The turbocharger discharge side of the Revo kit includes a single-piece, mandrel bent aluminium pipe with a constant 60mm inner diameter, eliminating the flow-inhibiting clearance dents of the OE composite hard pipe. The Revo discharge silicone hose couples the aluminium pipe to the Continental® turbocharger with a Flush Fit connection, gradually tapering from the size of the turbocharger outlet up to the 60mm inner diameter of the Revo pipe for stabilised internal airflow. Coupled together, the Revo parts offer significant increase in volume and a massive increase in flow capability over the OE discharge plumbing.

Throttle Pipe Design


As on the pre-intercooler routing, the throttle side of the Revo kit replaces the flow-restrictive OE composite hard pipe with another single-piece, 60mm inner diameter, mandrel bent aluminium pipe to increase the volume of the post-intercooler plumbing, while improving internal flow characteristics with optimised pipe routing. The Revo throttle hard pipe also features a precision manufactured DV mounting provision to specifically orient the OE DV and plumbing for ideal clearances to other components. A Revo silicone hose couples the Revo hard pipe to the engine and maintains a 63.5mm inner diameter up to the throttle body, to maximise throttle-side plumbing volume within the OE space. The size increase, carefully crafted routing and Flush Fit hose connection at the throttle body compliment the discharge-side Revo parts to create a balanced charge air system capable of supporting significantly increased air volume levels.

Details


The subtle design features of the kit make it a Revo product. Every Revo component was designed and verified with the latest 3D scanning and modelling technology to allow factory-like clearance to all engine bay components, while still improving the size and routing of the Revo parts over OE. In particular, the DV mounting provision on the Revo throttle hard pipe was scanned, test-fit and iterated several times to achieve the optimal clearances and placement at the front of the engine. Both Revo hard pipes utilise vibration damping mounting provisions and extra OE wiring/hose bracketry to replicate all OE fixturing, while also featuring adjustable mounting slots to achieve perfect fitment on each engine variant. Both Revo hoses are constructed from thick walled, oil-resistant silicone and wire helix reinforcement where necessary to maintain structural hose integrity regardless of charge air oil content or engine bay temperatures. The powder coated satin black, laser-etched hard pipe finishes, gloss black hose finishes and all stainless-steel hardware provide kit aesthetics that match the performance and look perfect in any High Output engine bay.
