The Ford Mustang is synonymous with a big V8 engine, so Ford’s decision to offer a 4 cylinder 2.3 option might have come as a shock. With a turbocharged 2.3 EcoBoost engine, this is not just a practical alternative to the V8, but now a contender thanks to Revo Software. Revo Stage 1 gave the 2.3 a new lease of life but Stage 2 is something else; it has serious grunt and a new sense of urgency. It doesn’t feel flat or underpowered anymore and really wants to pick up and go.
The increased midrange and top end is phenomenal, and makes it a much more rewarding car to drive; and It’s quick too, more responsive and has a much broader power band. With the additional power and torque, you can actually drive the car rather than just planting your foot and wishing there was more there. With the Stage 2 Pack, it’s now a fun, quick and very capable car, with more torque than the stock 5.0 V8.
Revo offers some of the most substantial performance increases on the market, however, peak figures form part of a much bigger picture and are never the sole focus during development. Only Revo offers a perfect balance of performance, economy, longevity and safety. Development and testing of Revo performance software is done in a number of territories around the world, considering variations in atmospheric conditions such as altitude and temperature.

During testing it quickly came to light that the 2.3 EcoBoost engine suffers considerably with high temperatures. This not only affects the top-end power output of the engine but can also cause considerable damage. To prevent this from happening, our calibration team have incorporated Temperature Protection, an additional safety feature that limits engine power under extreme temperatures before damage to the engine.
Revo Stage 2 tuning is developed to work with our stage 2 package hardware; even with the improved cooler temperatures from the Revo intercooler, we decided to leave the temperature protection in place. The additional Revo hardware manages to keep temperatures much lower than the stock parts, however, temperatures can still rise in high-temperature conditions (Rolling Road, High ambient temps, and prolonged vmax/track use) so for your piece of mind you know power will to reduced to protect your engine.
We have implemented additional safety features by reducing overall power as IAT's climb to undesirable levels.
