Testing in this way plays an important role in ensuring the highest quality products and delivering the driving experience you demand.

Only Revo performance ECU software maintains factory safety levels and additional driving features, so you can enjoy each mode’s unique characteristics as usual. You can also choose between three pre-set fuel quality modes depending on which fuel you use. If you would like the ability to do this yourself then the Revo SPS (Serial Port Switch) is also available separately, which can be used to quickly switch fuel modes and access an additional Anti-Theft mode without the need to visit a Revo Authorised Dealer.



2.0TSI IS20 GEN3 GPF


The latest generation 2.0TSI engine has seen some substantial changes in factory form to keep in line with the latest emissions laws. Most notable is the introduction of the GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) and the change to the direct injection system. Close monitoring of the GPF system has been an essential step in finding the limitations and tuning potential of the newer DKTB engines. The general consensus is that the GPF not only mutes but limits the engine power, Revo ECU calibration might be a reason to dispute that.

Enhancing the vehicle with Revo ECU software gives you much more than just an increase in power and torque. A large part of development is based on drive cycle and driver feedback, our calibration doesn’t just give a great dyno curve and peak power/torque figures but also delivers in feel; giving a smoother yet more responsive feel at low RPM/ partial throttle with huge gains at wide-open throttle throughout the whole rev range.

SERIAL PORT SWITCH (SPS)

Using an SPS switch you can take advantage of the switch-ability of Revo software. The Patented OBD2 interface is the ultimate compliment to Revo performance software, giving you the ability to switch between antitheft and 3 fuel quality modes via the vehicle OBD port.

  • SPS Position 1 - Antitheft mode
  • SPS Position 2 - 95ron fuel mode
  • SPS Position 3 - 97ron fuel mode
  • SPS Position 4 - 98/99ron fuel mode

Simply select a program, plug it in, wait a few seconds, remove the SPS device and start the car. It's simple and there's no fixed switch to install in the vehicle.

TEMPERATURE PROTECTION

Revo Temperature Protection is an additional safety feature that reduces overall load and RPM as the oil temperature passes a set limit. Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters. If EGTs reach a set upper limit, then the AFR will automatically change until the engine returns to a safe operating temperature. Additional changes to the calibration, including oil protection and pressure, are made to greater help control temperatures. Air intake and coolant temperatures are also closely monitored and boost will be reduced if they exceed the set limit to help maintain constant performance and aim in helping lower temperatures quicker.

Access to vehicles on this scale enables the calibration team to fine-tune products before release, testing products in a wide range of climates and conditions including altitude, fuel quality, humidity. This also allows Revo to test how Revo products perform in different driving scenarios and formed a vital part in the development of Performance ECU software.
